Deep purple in colour, this wine opens with an expressive nose of blueberries, black cherries, ripe figs and warm Christmas spices. The palate is rich and rounded, brimming with flavours of pomegranate, cocoa, vanilla, blackberries, mulberries, dark fruit compote and a touch of kirsch. Generous in mouthfeel, the well-balanced acidity, integrated oak and smooth, velvety tannins all contribute to a truly satisfying and delicious wine. Already drinking beautifully, it will continue to evolve and gain complexity over the next five years. A superb food wine, it pairs effortlessly with barbecue, roast duck, venison, strong cheeses, ostrich, roasted vegetables and traditional bobotie.
