The cows are jumping over the moon with excitement, as Spijker & Bessie Wines racked up a quartet of gold medals at recent wine competitions – three for our Bessie Sauvignon Blanc 2022, and one for our Spijker Malbec 2021.
Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards:
The competition was established to offer South African producers the opportunity of having their wines adjudicated locally by a highly experienced and respected panel of professionals from around the globe. Now, in its 24th year, the competition remains unique in South Africa, in that all judges are hand-picked wine experts, representing all seven continents.

Vitis Vinifera Awards:
The five-star Lanzerac Estate in Stellenbosch was the venue for the tenth annual Vitis Vinifera Awards that took place during the first week of September. It is the purpose of this event to promote all drinks produced by Vitis Vinifera grapes and to celebrate being fortunate enough to work with this noble vine.

Gold Wine Awards:
The Gold Wine Awards was born out of a need to help the consumer make more educated buying decisions and to promote worthy wines. The vast majority of consumers buy wines at R180 or below per bottle and wines in this price range will be the main benefactors of the awards.
